Shiatsu Literally translated as finger (shi) pressure (atsu), Shiatsu is a highly effective therapeutic technique, which finds its roots in the ancient healing system of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Central to Shiatsu is the belief that there is a flow of energy throughout all living beings.
Stagnation or excess of this energy is related to one of the many causes that leads us to a state of dis-ease with our body and our emotions.
The Japanese Ministry of Health and Welfare describes Shiatsu as "the Shiatsu practitioner, through applied pressure to the skin, is able to correct internal malfunctioning,
promote and maintain health and treat specific diseases".
CranioSacral Therapy encourages the body's natural self-correction mechanisms by either allowing or introducing movement that will release restrictions in the membrane system. While the treatment may seem almost imperceptible to the client, this work has a profound impact into the nervous system as it directly influences the brain and spinal cord. CranioSacral Therapy has been used to treat a broad range of conditions and can be an effective treatment against chronic pain, tension and releasing both physical and emotional trauma. Thai Yoga Massage, this form of treatment incorporates facilitated stretching with massage along the meridian pathways to help increase fluidity and flexibility of movement by deeply releasing tension and old holding patterns. Manual Lymphatic DrainageIt is the function of our lymphatic system to collect and remove the metabolic waste and cellular by-products that we no longer have use for and through some impairment or overload of the lymphatic system, it now fills up our interstitial space rather than making an elegant retreat. Manual Lymphatic Drainage helps to keep things moving and alleviates puffiness and mild to moderate edema. Please note that While a sluggish lymphatic system is not uncommon, particularly after some trauma or injury to an area and may be helped with these techniques, there are situations such as a preexisting heart condition or any cancer related issues would be contraindicated as we push fluids though these areas. My training, certification and experience level are for basic techniques that I may generally incorporate into a full bodywork session. Yoga
Literally meaning Union, the practice of yoga should be with the intent of joining all aspects of oneself, physical, emotional, mental and spiritual into harmony
with each other. There are many different aspects of traditional yoga that embrace physical, emotional, mental and spiritual states, and there are over a hundred different
forms of yoga. I teach in the Viniyoga tradition using Hatha poses for deep healing and rehabilitation.

Sound Therapy may be incorporated into both bodywork and yoga sessions as a means to further enhance the relaxation effects of the session.
Sound therapy works by using a variety of musical and percussion instruments to introduce various vibrational frequencies.
The brain responds by synchronizing with the frequency inducing a deep visceral relaxation which in turn creates an optimal environment for cellular repair and regeneration.
It is often believed but not proven, that the vibration itself can generate a subtle wave in the body to help clear blockages and stimulate circulation of body fluids.
Regardless of any potential physical benefit, Sound Therapy helps to create a meditative effect which has demonstrated to be effective for insomnia, anxiety and people living with chronic pain or fatigue and is useful for conditions that have been exacerbated by stress as it promotes deep relaxation and enhanced mental clarity.
